Welcome to Llynfi BMX Racing Club
Based in the scenic Llynfi Valley just beyond Maesteg in northern Bridgend County, Llynfi BMX Racing Club is a welcoming and inclusive community built around a National Standard BMX race track.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced racer, we welcome riders of all ages — from adventurous 3-year-olds to adults in their 50s and beyond. Our club offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the exciting sport of BMX racing, build core cycling skills, and progress at your own pace — whether that means having fun on the track or competing in races.
Sessions & Coaching
We run a mix of open track sessions and structured coaching/training, including start gate practice for all levels. All riders must be able to ride a pedal bike confidently to use the track.
Equipment
We have BMX race bikes and full-face helmets available to loan. You’re also welcome to bring your own bike — just make sure it’s in good working order, has a functioning rear brake, and has no stunt pegs.
Please wear:
- Long sleeves and full-length bottoms
- Gloves
- Knee and elbow pads if needed
Session Times
- April to September (Race Season): Tuesday & Thursday evenings, Sunday mornings
- October to March (Off Season): Sunday mornings only
Session times may vary — always check our Facebook or Instagram pages for the latest updates and weekly schedules.
Racing
We’re proud participants in the South West Region BMX Race Series, which runs throughout the season with ten rounds hosted at tracks across the region — from Bridgend to Bristol to Cornwall.
We also host a Regional race round at our own track and take part in major events such as:
- South West BMX Championships
- Welsh BMX Championships
- British BMX Championships
Races are open to both male and female riders and divided by age group and experience level (novice, expert, and elite), across both 20” and 24” (cruiser) BMX race bikes.
Affiliations
