What an Awards night for our club!
Llynfi BMX Racing Club won two Beicio Cymru Awards: Club of the Year, Event of the Year.
On top of this we had a finalist runner up: Matthew Rowlands for Volunteer of the Year.
We felt on top of the world for being shortlisted and invited to attend the prestigious evening of awards for Wales. To come away with not one but two awards was absolutely incredible, initially speechless with a lump in our throats, we are thrilled to bits, what an achievement for our BMX club to be recognised so highly.
It was a fantastic night of celebration for all that’s amazing about cycling in Wales right now, and we were honoured to be a part of it, taking place for the first time in Bridgend too, with a lavish yet informal event at Off Grid 31, Bridgend.
Honouring the grassroots to elite and the hall of fame inductees, it was a night to remember. And we had a blast, with a fantastic crew of our members attending together, a mixture of youngsters and adults, we enjoyed the flatland BMX demo, delicious meal, Whocult Coffee + Donuts, drinks, bike films, games, meeting other clubs and great conversations, and the live band to party!
One of our members, Peggy, even won the ‘heads or tails’ game, fundraising for @Beicio Cymru Foundation, and won a signed Geraint Thomas race jersey!
Congratulations to all award nominees, winners, and Hall of Fame inductees, we were in the presence of future, present and past greats of Welsh cycling, hopefully we’ll see a Welsh BMXer up there soon too.
Thank you to all our amazing volunteers and riders, who make this club happen week in week out.… training, racing, sessioning, coaching, supporting, grafting, maintaining, progressing, administering, fundraising, meeting, networking, attending, committing, developing, cheering, crying, celebrating, inspiring, and having fun, BMXing, together.
